Barcelona have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Wolves to sell right-back Nelson Semedo for an initial €30m, with the fee potentially rising to €40m with add-ons.
Semedo featured 42 times in all competitions for Barça last season, but he has been unable to hold down the right-back slot during his time with the club. And with La Blaugrana in need of raising funds this summer, the 26-year-old had been linked with a number of clubs.
But it is Wolves who have won the race for his signature, with Barcelona confirming on their official website that an agreement has been reached with the Premier League outfit. They will pay an initial €30m, but this could rise to as much as €40m with add-ons.
A brief statement read: “FC Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Nélson Semedo. The English club will pay 30 million euros plus ten more in variables.”
